AT OTAY LAKES DENTAL ARTS
A tooth veneer is made of a thin porcelain piece bonded onto the front of a tooth to treat crooked, misshapen, and discolored teeth. It can be done on a single tooth or as many as needed. Fitting veneers usually require little or no anesthesia.
Porcelain is used in various types of dental restorations because temporary veneers are durable and can be made to resemble your natural teeth in color, texture, and shape for a natural-looking and long-lasting, beautiful smile.
To restore a uniform, attractive appearance, a tooth veneer is made of a thin porcelain piece bonded onto the front of a crooked, misshapen, or discolored tooth. It can be done on a single tooth or as many teeth as needed.
Porcelain is used in dental restorations because it is durable and can be made to resemble your natural teeth in color, texture, and shape for a natural-looking and long-lasting, beautiful smile.
Veneers can completely reshape your teeth and smile by correcting slight color and positional irregularities. Think about surfaces this way – visualize them as a false nail that fits over your natural nail.
Once Dr. Miller has determined that dental veneers are the right choice for you, a pre-treatment wax impression is sent to the lab to create a model. A 3D digital scan with our TRIOS® 3Shape scanner will also be made to check the shade of your other teeth and digitally transfer this information to the lab technician to make an exact color match. You and Dr. Miller can visualize the result and make any modifications necessary. After you and Dr. Miller decide on any changes, the fitting is sent to the lab, and the final veneers are made to exact specifications with a standard turnaround of less than a week.
Porcelain veneers near you are durable and will last many years to give you a beautiful, long-lasting smile. As with most dental restorations, veneers are not permanent and may someday need replacement.
WHY SHOULD I CONSIDER PORCELAIN VENEERS?
One of the advantages of porcelain veneers is that the teeth they are to be fitted to require only minimal reduction, a very conservative approach. The ideal veneer preparation is done only on enamel and does not extend into the dentin, “live,” or part of the tooth. Fitting veneers usually requires little or no anesthesia.
Also, the results that can be achieved with porcelain veneers near you are exceptionally pleasing. Minor misalignment or cosmetic blemishes can be easily fixed, and veneers can help rebuild tooth structure lost due to erosion, abrasion, or trauma.
Advances in modern materials permit porcelain veneers to be made to the highest level of accuracy and strength. Eastlake Porcelain veneers work well for:
- Cosmetic treatment to create a uniform, white, beautiful smile
- Crooked teeth
- Visual Examination of Tooth Decay
- Examination of Diagnostic X-rays
- Evaluation of Status of Current RestorationsMisshapen teeth
*Note: Dental veneers are not advised for teeth that are severely misaligned or where more than 70% of existing tooth structure is missing
